SDO17307 - Geophysical Survey Report. Land off Lower Common Road, Child Okeford, Dorset

‘A magnetometer survey of 3.8 ha of land off Lower Common Road, Child Okeford has not detected any magnetic responses that could be interpreted as being of definite archaeological interest. A cluster of pit-like response and discrete linear ditch-like response have been recorded in the south of the dataset and have been categorised as uncertain. It is unclear if they are of any antiquity or due to modern processes. A negative linear response and a couple linear trends are likely to be a result of modern or agricultural processes. Ridge and furrow ploughing is visible in the magnetic data. A band of magnetic disturbance and the route of a service pipe have also been marked.’
