SDO15862 - Land off Salisbury Street, Marnhull, Dorset

A trial trench evaluation was commissioned by Savills on a site being considered for residential development. A desk-based assessment and geophysical survey had previously indicated some archaeological interest in the site. Fourteen trenches were excavated and archaeological features revealed in two, being the remains of a probable Bronze Age round barrow with an associated cremation grave and an undated rectangular enclosure with a further feature within it.
