SDO15602 - Borough Gardens, Dorchester, Dorset. Geophysical Survey Report

‘BUARC, Bournemouth University’s Archaeological Consultancy, was commissioned by Dorchester Town Council to carry out a programme of geophysical survey at the Borough Gardens Dorchester. The surveys delineated areas of archaeological potential indicated by possible building rubble, geological variation, possible disused paths, and modern activity. Based on the results of this survey the archaeological potential of the site is deemed to be low-medium. It is anticipated this report will be used to determine the nature and extent of further investigations on the site including, but not necessarily limited to, an archaeological trench evaluation of some of the possible archaeological features represented by geophysical anomalies recorded during this project.’
