Abstract/Summary
'A watching brief by Arrowhead Archaeology on the groundwork for an extension to the rear of 44 South Street, Bridport involved recording of the pre-existing Nissan Hut, and of deposits exposed during foundation trench excavation. A layer of late post-medieval soil overlay cut features mainly of post-medieval date. Two cuts might be medieval, though are probably later. A small assemblage of late medieval pottery was present as residual material, mainly in the south of the development area. The earlest pottery dated to the 12th-13th century with late Saxon pottery absent.'
