Abstract/Summary

‘Context One Archaeological Services Ltd (COAS) carried out a programme of archaeological monitoring and recording during the refurbishment of an existing pump station and construction of a new pump station and pipe works at Forston Water Treatment Works, Forston, Dorchester. The Site is adjacent to the known location of a Roman villa, and is surrounded by prehistoric and medieval field systems. No archaeological features or deposits were identified during the archaeological programme of works however the deposits within the new pipe trench were found to have been disturbed by previous pipe laying activity. Nevertheless, the absence of finds suggests that this area was devoid of evidence for Roman activity.’
