SDO15397 - Frome Vauchurch, Dorset. Archaeological Observation of Development Site at SY 5994 9723

In October 1985 the Trust for Wessex Archaeology invited the Archaeology Unity of the Dorset Institute of Higher Education to carry out observations and recording on a site at Frome Vauchurch being developed for housing by Mr J Fenwick of Maiden Newton, builder Mr Clifford of Maiden Newton. A number of visits were made in the eleven months that groundworks took place. It was not possible to observe digging of most of the foundation and service trenches. No archaeological features or deposits were observed, and no finds of significance seen in spoil heaps.
