Abstract/Summary

‘An archaeological field evaluation on the site of a proposed housing development on the former Village Hall site, Toller Porcorum was carried out by AC archaeology during July 1998. The evaluation comprised the manual excavation of two trial pits, each 2 x 1m in plan. Several subsoil features were present. Those in Trial Pit 1 were sealed by deposits containing post-medieval and modern finds, but did not contain finds themselves. Those features present in Trial Pit 2 contained post-medieval finds in their upper fills. No medieval or earlier finds were recovered from the excavations. Two fragments of possible human skull bone were recovered.’
