SDO15336 - Land at Worgret Road, Wareham, Dorset. Geophysical Survey Report

A geophysical survey was carried out prior to development of the site. The area surveyed was approximately 4.67ha of recently harvested land. The survey identified linear and discrete anomalies across the field of anthropogenic origin, which may represent modern agricultural practices and also disturbance associated with the construction of the Wareham by-pass. There was evidence of' scatter-manuring' in the form of sherds of post medieval pottery and red brick although the presence of archaeological activity may also be indicated.
