Abstract/Summary

This report describes the results of an archeological watching brief undertaken on behalf of the National Trust and the Environment Agency during habitat enhancement works of the River Stour at White Mill, Shapwick, Dorset (ST 95786 00621). The first phase of the enhancement included the clearing out of the mill leat to the north of the present mill building and the construction of a stone riffle on the site of the old weir on the River Stour. The current work at White Mill have confirmed the results of the excavations undertaken in the 1990's and no new or significant archeological features or deposits were revealed.
