Abstract/Summary
‘In February 2006, Terrain Archaeology carried out an archaeological evaluation of land off Augusta Road, Portland (NGR SY69887240) proposed for new development. Five trenches were excavated across the area of the site. A single Iron Age pit was revealed in a trench on the western side of the site. This is probably part of the same site as previously found during sewer diversion work in 2004, about thirty metres to the west (Martin 2003). The only other features encountered were two small modern gullies in the northern part of the site.’
