Abstract/Summary
Archaeological investigations undertaken by AC archaeology and local volunteers during August 2004 of a site next to a residential development where archaeological excavations had revealed a substantial Romano-British structure with associated bath house.
The programme of investigations comprised the machine-excavation of six trenches. A substantial ditch aligned north-east to south-west was revealed in two trenches in the eastern part of the site. The ditch was similar in size and filling to a ditch on the west side of the previously-excavated Romano-British structure. There was no evidence of archaeological activity to the west of this ditch, and the excavators concluded that these ditches were likely to represent the eastern and western boundaries of a substantial Romano-British complex.
