Abstract/Summary

Archaeological observations and recording during groundworks for a new toilet and store building south of the church. One burial, probably un-coffined, and possibly of medieval or early post-medieval date, was discovered in the narrow service trench connecting the new building to the south aisle. The edge of another cut feature, undated and interpreted as a possible grave was recorded close by to the south east. No human remains were found within the footprint of the new building, indicating that this area had not been used for burial. A boundary ditch exposed at the base of the embanked eastern edge of the churchyard contained finds primarily of 20th-century date.
