‘In April 2008, Terrain Archaeology carried out an archaeological evaluation of the proposed site of a new quarry extension at Downs Quarry to the west of Langton Matravers, Dorset (centred on NGR SY98157925). Three trenches were excavated in a field to the northeast of Downs Quarry and west of Haycrafts Lane. No archaeological features were found during the evaluation.
