Abstract/Summary

‘An archaeological watching brief was carried out in August 2005 by Terrain Archaeology during the replacement of a water main between Longburton and Holnest, Dorset, on behalf of Wessex Water. The watching brief was confined to a 500 m length, where the pipeline was laid in fields to the east of the A352 at Dyer’s Farm, Holnest (ST661087). The only features encountered were an overgrown track leading to the front of Dyer’s Farm house and the remnant of a probable recent bonfire to the south.’
