Abstract/Summary
‘A trench evaluation was undertaken by AC archaeology on two parcels of land at Long Barrow Farm, Long Bredy, Dorset, during October 2014. The work was undertaken as part of a programme of archaeological works required in support of a planning application for the proposed upgrade to the existing Martin’s Down Service Reservoir. The trench evaluation consisted of five machine-excavated trenches, three of these located close to a number of scheduled barrow mounds. Two of the trenches were positioned to target anomalies identified by a previously undertaken geophysical survey. Neither any of these anomalies, nor any other archaeological deposits or artefacts were present in the trenches.’
