Abstract/Summary
‘A trench evaluation was undertaken by AC archaeology on land at Barton Farm, Sherborne, Dorset (NGR: ST625167), during November 2014. The work was undertaken as part of a programme of archaeological works required as a condition of planning permission for a proposed road access and surface water storage pond. The trench evaluation consisted of three machine-excavated trenches. All three trenches were positioned to target anomalies identified by a previously undertaken geophysical survey. None of the geophysical anomalies proved to be archaeological in nature, with no archaeological deposits or artefacts present in any of the trenches.’
