Abstract/Summary

‘An archaeological watching brief was carried out on the site of Broad Mead, Acton between 6 -12th May 2014 in advance of quarrying on the site. The work was commissioned by Haysom (Purbeck Stone) Ltd and was carried out by Rose Ferraby. The objective was to watch for archaeological features, deposits and finds as the top soil and sub soil was removed from Phase One and Two of the site, as a follow up to the Archaeological Evaluation carried out by Peter Bellamy of Terrain Archaeology (March 2012). There was no evidence of archaeological features or deposits in the removal of topsoil for Phase One and Two.’
