Abstract/Summary
'Southern Archaeological Services Ltd of Southampton conducted a desk-based assessment of the known archaeology of the area around Denches Yard, Rectory Road, Piddlehinton, Dorset (NGR SY 7152 9722), using documantary sources held in various archives, as part of the archaeological evaluation of the site. A site visit was also carried out. The assessment was undertaken on behalf of Justin Developments of Poole. The assessment showed that the site lies in an area rich in Prehistoric remains, with a history of settlement throughout the medieval period and up to the present day, but that the site itself may have been substantially disturbed by building, gardening, vehicle parking and other recent activities.'
