Abstract/Summary

'Results of an archaeological evaluation carried out in April 1994 to assess the archaeological implications of a proposed development to create two new lakes on land at Stour Provost. The investigation has been commissioned by the prospective developer and landowner R & M Candy and Son. The site is situated at the base of a narrow river valley, formerly known as the river Trill. The land lies on (?Oxford) Clay at around 60m OD. The current land-use is pasture. No archaeological sites or deposits are recorded within the field, but a low earthwork bank can be traced running west to east along the field.'
