Abstract/Summary

‘Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by Savills Chartered Surveyors on behalf of Mr H J C Ross Skinner to undertake an archeological watching brief prior to the construction of a Manège within the site of an old walled garden in the village of Warmwell, Dorset (NGR SY 75268595). The archaeological watching brief has revealed a number of features indicative of a degree of medieval and later activity in the area affected by development. However, these remains are of uncertain date and function and appear to be of no more than local significance. Although it is possible that the area affected by development was a site of prehistoric activity, the remains recorded are insufficient to ascribe any date, function or character.’
