Abstract/Summary

An archaeological watching brief was carried out during the construction of three reed beds to the northwest of St Gabriel's House, as part of the upgrading of the drainage system. Previously the remains of several brick clamps have been found in the field. However, no archaeology was encountered, other than a 0.4m thick layer of ploughsoil, containing sparse medieval and post-medieval pottery, was exposed beneath the modern turf. A number of modern drains were revealed.
