Abstract/Summary
'Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by Drinkwater Sabey Ltd to carry out an archaeological evaluation on land to the east of Parley Court Farm (SZ 10300 99300), in advance of a proposed landraising project. The evaluation consisted of 21 machine cut trenches, revealing an undated ditch and two gullies, and four peat-filled former watercourses. All these features were recorded in the northern half of the site, the ditch appears to relate to a former drain noted on OS maps as recently as 1976. No finds were recovered during the evaluation, but a column of peat samples were taken from one of the former watercourses, indicating the peat to be relatively modern formation.'
