Abstract/Summary
'An archaeological survey of a c. 1.2ha site at Burton, to the north of Dorchester, Dorset, was undertaken prior to and during the construction of a pumping station for Wessex Water.
Prior to construction the area was fieldwalked on a 5m grid basis. Whilst a number of worked flints, of probable middle-late Bronze Age date, were located, no distinct clusters were apparent. Other finds included burnt flint and a small quantity of Medieval pottery, all other finds were of post-Medieval/modern date.
A watching brief was carried out during topsoil stripping across the site. No archaeological features were observed.'
