Abstract/Summary
The client, Bournemouth & West Hampshire Water, proposed to excavate a trench for a water pipeline on Canford Heath, in Poole, Dorset. The route of the trench was adjacent to a Bronze Age Round Barrow and is thus located in an area of archaeological potential.
As a condition of the granting of Planning Permission, the Planning Authority required that an Archaeological Watching Brief should be carried out during ground works. Bournemouth University was contracted to undertake the brief.
No archaeological remains were observed during the Watching Brief.
