SDO12251 - Report on the Archaeological Watching Brief at Canford School, Canford Magna, Wimborne, Dorset, 18th January 1996

An archaeological watching brief on groundwork for an extension to the art school block at Canford School, Canford Magna, Wimborne, Dorset was carried out on 18th January 1996. Topsoil has already been removed, and the majority of the foundation trenches had already been excavated. The weather and site conditions for observing archaeological features during this type of operation were very good, but the available light was poor. No archaeological features or finds were observed, and it is considered extremely unlikely that any significant archaeological features were overlooked.
