Title A Preliminary Archaeological Assessment of the Proposed Development of Land for Industrial Units at Lower Blandford Heights Allotments, Blandford, Dorset

Abstract/Summary

A largely desk-based study has been undertaken to support a planning application for the construction of new industrial units on land adjacent to the existing industrial estate at Lower Blandford Heights. There is no existing record of archaeological sites or finds within the application area, but several are known with 1km of this location. The line of the former Blandford and Pimperne parish boundary survives as the NW boundary of the application area and can be seen as a low earthwork. This feature may be of Medieval date and be locally affected by the development.
