Abstract/Summary
Two evaluation trenches were excavated at land proposed for re-development at Duck Street, Cerne Abba, centred on National Grid Reference 6631 0111. One trench was entirely devoid of archaeological deposits, the other contained the remains of a post-medieval chalk drain which was to cut through a mixed deposit thought to represent consolidation of the bank of the adjacent stream. Due the probable nineteenth century date of these deposits, they are not considered to be of particular archaeological significance.
