Title | Brookside, Gussage St Michael: excavation for ménage [sic] foundations – Watching Brief |
Author/Originator | Manley, H P |
Date/Year | 2008 |
Bournemouth Archaeology | 0020 |
Abstract/Summary
Bournemouth Archaeology was commissioned to carry out archaeological observations and recording during excavation of the foundations for a manège. This work was required as a condition of the granting of planning permission, as the site lies within the Dorset Cursus, though the monument is not visible at this point. The shallow excavations revealed disturbed colluvial deposits. Archaeological deposits were not exposed, though the author did not rule out the possibility of archaeological remains surviving at a lower level.
