Abstract/Summary
Terrain Archaeology was sub-contracted by Gifford to carry out archaeological observations and recording during excavation of ring-beam trenches up to 0.5m deep between displacement piles. A site visit was made on 26 September 2007. No sign of undisturbed ground was observed, with recently-made ground overlying 1970s landfill deposits. It was concluded that there was an extremely low potential for exposing archaeologically- or palaeoenvironmentally-significant deposits during groundworks, and the exercise was terminated after one visit.
