Abstract/Summary
The East Dorset Antiquarian Society was commissioned by the trustees of the Worth Community Property Tust to carry out an archaeological evaluation of part of a site north of 'Windyridge' and west of 14 and 16 Newfoundland Close. The greater part of the site, where a housing development was proposed (planning application 6/2006/1143), had been the subject of an earlier evaluation; this evaluation considered a small part of the site which had not been covered by that work. A magnetometry survey was carried out, and a trench dug across the building footprint to test the magnetometry results. No recognisable archaeological features or artefacts were recorded. The author concluded that no significant archaeological remains would be impacted by the proposed development in this area.
