Abstract/Summary

‘A watching brief was undertaken by Terrain Archaeology during the construction of a new building on the south side of Long Street… adjacent to Brecon House.’ A line of 4 or 5 12th century rubbish pits were recorded along the street frontage with a small and contemporary E-W boundary ditch 4m to the south. These features have been interpreted as evidence for a realignment of Long Street in the 12th century.
