Abstract/Summary

A watching brief maintained by Archaeological Site Investigations of Warminster, during the construction of an extension to Island House in Newland, Sherborne during early July 1997, supervised and recorded the discovery of parts of a single, undated, adult inhumation burial. The skeletal remains, which comprised parts of pelvis, lower spine, upper legs, lower arms and ribs were re-interred in the upper fills of the grave immediately after recording. The archive of records is currently held at 12 Victoria Road, Warminster, but will be deposited with Dorset County Museum.
