Abstract/Summary

A brief outline of work carried out by AC Archaeology during 1991, this includes ‘…two sites in Sherborne produced great contrast in their archaeological records. On Long Street, the expected sequence of urban deposits dating from the 12th century was absent, some shallow ditches dating from this period representing the only medieval activity on the site. On Hound Street, however, a complex sequence of activity was recorded in a single trench of only 7m x 1m comprising a paved area, a small pit, and large quantities of probably 12th century pottery.’
