Abstract/Summary

‘During construction work on a new factory adjacent to the rail and river bridges of the Dorchester Road (A352), the old road in use before the railway was built was uncovered, constructed of local stone and rendered very compact, presumably by the passage of many years of iron shod wheels. The road can also be seen as a depression with sloping sides in the field SSW of the bridges.’
