Abstract/Summary

"Roman Antiquities – on the 10th August, some of the workmen employed in the building of the new Lodge at the Castle, discovered some portions of a tessellated pavement consisting of two pieces of border and a small fragment of floor. The border was of the rather common horned pattern, and was laid with tesserae of red tile and black and white stone. We believe the Governor has taken means to preserve it."
