Abstract/Summary

The following five earthworks were surveyed in Quomps Copse in 1975 by Mr. P. Aitken. 1. Low circular mound 10m diameter surrounded by a berm, bank and ditch (SZ1312796291). 2. Bowl barrow 13m diameter (SZ1310096270). 3. Probably bowl barrow 10m diameter (SZ1309596254). 4. Bowl barrow 10m diameter (SZ1309096244). 5. Oval mound 12m across partially surrounded by a berm, ditch and bank (SZ1307596216). Other features noted in the area were a low mound (SZ1297196163), some ditches (SZ13009641) and traces of slight banks and ditches (SZ13069632). Earthworks nos 1-5 are roughly in a straight line running NE-SW and are in a wooded area at the top of a scarp.
