Full Description
Railway station on the Southampton and Dorchester line, opened in 1847. (1)
The current Hamworthy Goods Station was built as the original Poole Station on a branch line from the Southampton and Dorchester Railway from Hamworthy Junction (then called Poole Junction). It was opened in 1847 served as the station for Poole until the current Poole Station was opened in 1872. (2) It was closed to passenger traffic in 1896 and still serves as a goods station for Hamworthy quay.
