Full Description

Settlement remains comprising probable 17th century house footings and other structures lie at the base of the Goathorn peninsula on Studland Heath. Two structures near to the house footings are marked by Clayey banks only; the first, 30 yards south of the house is 22ft x 10ft and the second about 40 yards west of the house, is 154 x 9ft. These remains are close to, but cannot be identified with, the site of the proposed new town of Newton (see SZ 08 NW 10). (1)
