Full Description

A Palaeolithic `Levalloisian' flint core with faceted platform was found on the shore at Canford Cliffs (SZ 0589). In E H Kitchen Collection, Bournemouth Natural Science Society Museum. <1>

Six Palaeolithic hand-axes of varying type were found at Canford Cliffs. In Bournemouth Natural Science Society Museum and Christchurch (Red House) Museum (probably includes the Levallois core of Authority 1). <2>

The precise findspot is not known. The handaxes were found in an area of Terrace 9 gravel. <3>
