Summary

Hamworthy Station was built as part of the Southampton and Dorchester Railway in 1847. It was originally known as Poole Junction and later renamed Hamworthy Junction as it was at the junction between the Southampton and Dorchester line and a branch line to Poole Station (which was at Hamworthy until 1872). The station house is of two-storeys and built in a Jacobean style of Broadmayne brick with yellow brick dressings.

Hamworthy Junction Station was built as part of the Southampton and Dorchester Railway and opened in June 1847. It was originally known as Poole Junction and was at the junction between the Southampton and Dorchester line and a branch line to Poole Station (which was at Hamworthy until 1872). The station house is of two storeys and is built in Jacobean style of Broadmayne brick with yellow brick quoins and window dressings. (2)

It is now known as Hamworthy Station.
