Full Description

Polished Stone Axe or chisel of Ophitic dolerite, found at Creekmoor. No further details of site. Durden Collection, British Museum. (1892. 9.1.87). (1-2)

No new finds were obtained during investigation in the Creekmoor area. This district is approximately one square mile in extent, approximate centre SZ 001933, and the find is consequently a marginal one. Present location in the British Museum and accession number accepted from auth.1. This chisel-like implement is 7.2 ins long, one end being brought to a flat edge. Otherwise the object is roughly circular in section, with a diameter of approximately 1.5 ins. (3)
