'Carrum' of Anglo-Saxon Chronicle identified as Charmouth. <1> <2>
For alternative site, based on more modern interpretation of 'Carrum' as Carhampton in Somerset, see ST 04 SW 24). <4>
Charmouth is recorded as a village called 'Cernemude' in the Domesday Book. <3>
