Full Description

SY 871796 - 891799. 'Celtic field fragments, mostly overlain and disturbed by strip lynchets, some unusually irregular, cover 5 acres of Tyneham Coast but the lynchets are rarely up to 12ft. high. Very faint traces indicate former extensions of the 'Celtics' fields east along the ridge as well as north on to lower ground. <2>

SY 873797 to 880798. Medieval strip fields overlie the above 'Celtic fields, south of Baltington. Two blocks , basically of contour type are separated by a small area of steeper natural slope on which 'Celtic' fields are relavtively undisturbed. The total area is about 13 acres.

SY 88037981 to 88907988. Medieval strip lynchets occur over the Celtic fields in an area of almost 20 acres. They have been carefully arranged to fit into the 'Celtic' pattern crossing smoothly over some of the earlier lynchets. <3>
