Full Description

The oak timber was something like 2m long, had been fastened with treenails, and bore the remains of an iron pintle. There was a fresh break at one end, with the stain and fastening holes of a second pintle close to the break (by memory, the pintles were over a metre apart along the timber). The dredger is a grab type, and with the timber held in the grab dredger was reported to have been pulled down until the water was almost at deck level before
the timber broke free (Mike Markey ex PHC). Site later searched but nothing discovered. (1)
