No more is known about the KAYLENA except that she was:

'An old yacht which sank after dismantling.' (1)

'Wreck lies in 25m and is very broken which apparently sank after dismantling.' (2)

Position 50 33 N 2 1 W taken from (3)

Sailing yacht that sank off St Aldhelm's Head in 1970 (4)

The UK Hydrographic Office had charted the vessel but after her remains were not located by Multi-beam in a 2009 survey, the record was amended to DEAD which means that the location of any possible remains are still not known. (4)

Date of loss qualifier: Unknown.

The building date for this vessel is an estimate based on an average age at wrecking of twenty years. This average is derived from those vessels wrecked on the Dorset coast whose age at wrecking is known.
