Full Description

Circular feature, Bure visible on an AP from 1940 (1).
This feature is also visible on the 1st edition 0S 25 inch map, although it is not annotated as a tumulus (2). It is actually a low mound, ovoid in plan with a flat top. It measures approximately 24m x 19m with the long axis aligned NNE-SSW. It does not appear like a typical round barrow and may be a prospect mound associated with Highcliffe gardens.
