Western Gazette, Friday, 9/12/1904: “On Sunday two vessels got on the Hook Sands at the entrance to Poole Harbour, and the City Masonic Club Lifeboat was summoned to their assistance. The first ship that went aground was the Carrie Bell (Captain Magor). She is a schooner, and from Plymouth to Poole with a cargo of limestone. About four o’clock on Sunday morning the vessel was making for the harbour in the teeth of a heavy gale, when she struck the Hook.” She later got off undamaged. A little more lifeboat detail available.
