Full Description

ANTI AIRCRAFT BATTERY. From site list with letter. Isle of Portland HAA Recorder- R. Perry. <1-3>

Possible military buildings on the coast at Portland, showing clear spearhead bastion features visible on a 1940s aerial photograph <4>. The image is not complete, but there are suggestions of a hexagonal bank or rampart around the buildings, possibly the ruins of a fortified coastal battery? Much of it may now be built over.

A Second World War HAA battery and associated military buildings are visible as structures on aerial photographs of the 1940s <5> at Southwell, Portland. The HAA battery is centred at SY 68298 70163.
