Full Description
A large circular feature, visible on a 1940s AP (1)
An irregular curvilinear enclosure (147m by 122m) is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1942. It is considered to be of military orgin, possibly predating the WWII heavy anti aircraft battery described in MWX4686. The feature appears as a dark cropmark on the aerial photographs (2-3}. A smaller circular enclosure lies to the north of the site (MDO25603). The features were digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
