Full Description
Possible linear earthwork, aligned NE/SW, seen on a 1970s AP. (1)
A group of linear and curvilinear banks and ditches are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs (2) and Lidar imagery (3) of Lanehouse, Weymouth. They are located approximately 240m to the west of the partial remains of a possible late prehistoric enclosure (MDO29821) and associated trackway (MDO29822). It is possible these features could be related trackways or field boundaries. Alternatively they could be the remains of medieval or later drainage ditches or trackways. They were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). They are not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project.
